Questions we hear most
Do you take my insurance?
We file claims for most PPO plans, dental and medical, and the plan decides what it pays. The fees page explains how we check your benefits before surgery day.
What if I don't have insurance?
You get a written estimate before treatment and pay at the visit. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.
Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?
We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP. If you have either, we will help you find an oral surgeon who is.
Will it hurt?
Most people feel pressure, not pain, once the area is numb, and we stop whenever you ask. You will be sore afterward, and we tell you what to expect.
How often will I need scans?
Dr. Elgendy decides from your mouth and your history. A scan is taken when it helps her plan, and it is shared with your dentist.
Do you clean teeth or do fillings?
No. Your own dentist does that. We do surgery and send a note back to your dentist.
Do you see children?
We see teens, usually when their dentist suggests it, with a parent or guardian. Younger children are seen only by referral, with a parent.
What counts as an emergency?
Trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling that spreads to the face, eye or neck, and bleeding that won't stop need 911 or an emergency room. For other problems after surgery, call us.
Do you offer sedation, and who gives it?
Yes. Dr. Elgendy gives it herself under her state sedation permit, and a second trained team member watches you. The sedation page has the levels, the monitoring and the rules.
Can I get a written estimate before treatment?
Yes, at the consult and before anything is scheduled.
Do you speak Spanish?
Tell us when you book and we will arrange an interpreter for your visit.
How do I change or cancel a visit?
Call us as soon as you know. Surgery days are planned in advance, and we would rather move yours than lose the time.
Still wondering?
